How to store these simple Red Velvet Cupcakes
Store your cupcakes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Just be sure to let them come to room temperature before serving for maximum deliciousness!
Here are three simple tips to ensure your Red Velvet Cupcakes turn out absolutely perfect:
- Measure accurately: Baking is a science, so make sure you measure your ingredients accurately, especially the flour. Too much or too little flour can drastically affect the texture of your cupcakes. Use a kitchen scale for the most precise measurements, or spoon and level your dry ingredients for accuracy.
- Don’t overmix: Once you start combining the wet and dry ingredients, be careful not to overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in dense and tough cupcakes. Mix until everything is just combined and there are no visible streaks of flour. A few lumps in the batter are totally fine!
- Use room temperature ingredients: Make sure your butter, egg, and buttermilk are all at room temperature before you start baking. Room temperature ingredients blend together more easily, resulting in a smoother batter and better overall texture in your cupcakes. Plus, room temperature butter will cream more easily with the sugar, ensuring a light and fluffy cupcake crumb.
Follow these simple tips, and you’ll be well on your way to baking the most irresistible Red Velvet Cupcakes ever!
