1cupsall-purpose flour

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt. Set aside.
In a separate large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, egg and buttermilk, add few drops of red food colouring until well combined.
4, Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the butter mixture alternating with the buttermilk mixture. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing well after each addition.
5 Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter. Tap the pan gently on the counter to remove any air bubbles.
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes. Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
7 Once the cupcakes are completely cooled, frost them generously with cream cheese frosting. You can either use store-bought frosting or make your own.
